Consider the following: There has been a tremendous amount of effort to gather the best names for this directory. We are convinced of the value of owning so many Wasatch Names for several reasons. Many directories are created by owning a single name
i.e. Wasatch Directory. However by having direct access to each page through the
sub-directory names makes referrals to your business inevitable. Maybe one of your
best customers is talking with a friend or client and suggests your service.
Chances are they are not going to have your business card on them. But knowing
you are linked from the Wasatch Directory Attorney's page they may very well
refer your services by telling their associate to go to wasatchattorneys.com
Furthermore how often is this directory's sub-directories going to appear with
the search engines as they scan the wasatch pages. And with our
own advertising and free uploads for public ads there is little doubt as to
our outcome. This level of confidence may not exist if we did not own major
names for every industry we felt important from Medical to Automotive, from
Entertainment to Education, many names purchased primarily for increasing traffic,
community announcements, Wasatch Government to Wasatch Families.
When we came up with a final design plan to include logos, we realized there
could only be 7-10 primary sponsors on each page. However the logos
make the pages more attractive. Most parked pages have boring one line links
to 60-80 web sites all linked with a common subject. When you click on
these links you get another 60-80 links. Not surprising that there is questionable
value when a web site is linked to so many different sites. However we
are willing to listen to anyone's ideas on how to create a truly attractive
directory that people will want to use. The only way to assure this is
to limit the number of links and how we display our sponsors ad links.
Another consideration that was hard to come by was how to list the sponsors
on each page. Most directories would list in alphabetical order. However
if there is only 7-10 sponsors per page then we feel that listings should
be based on sign-up dates. Those that have supported this co-operative
directory will be given more consideration as for page design keeping
in mind that logos vary in size and dimensions. In good conscience we
have to agree we will give consideration to the first sponsors, but we
must design each page depending on how logos can best be fitted together.
We will do our best to balance these considerations but with
so few sponsors in the logo sections every ad will be easy to see.
